EY’s JOURNEY is Israel’s most prestigious annual business conference. The conference hosts over 2,000 attendees each year, from Israel and abroad including investors, VCs, angels, entrepreneurs, startups and the entire echo-system. This year the conference will take place for the 23rd time.

The JOURNEY conference will take place on September 18th, 2019 at the Hilton Tel-Aviv hotel in Israel.
The conference hours are 9:00am to 18:00pm.

Imran Gulamhuseinwala

Mr. Gulamhuseinwala was appointed Implementation Trustee for the Open Banking Implementation Entity (OBIE) in April 2017.
As Trustee, he has oversight and responsibility for Open Banking’s delivery of the common technical standards underpinning the Competition and Market Authority’s Open Banking initiative.
Prior to joining Open Banking, Imran has been active in financial technology as both investor and start-up founder.
He has worked in financial services for over 20 years, eight years of which included investing in the FinTech sector. He is a former Partner of (EY) where he was also Global Head of FinTech.
He is the co-founder of CommuterClub, a FinTech 50 start-up which helps commuters to access savings for annual travel season tickets.
He was awarded an OBE in the 2017 New Year’s Honours list for his contribution to the financial services sector.
He has a Masters in Engineering from Cambridge University and is a CFA charter holder.

Nagraj Kashyap

Fred Kofman

Fred Kofman is Google’s leadership development advisor, director of the Conscious Leadership Center at the Monterrey Institute of Technology, founder and president of the Conscious Business Center International. After earning a PhD in Economics from University of California at Berkeley, Fred has been a prominentprofessor at MIT’s Sloan School of Management. Later, Fred founded his global consulting company, Axialent, which has delivered leadership programs to more than 15,000 executives around the world.

In 2013, Fred took a position of the Vice President of Executive Development at LinkedIn. During this time, Fred and LinkedIn offered a Conscious Business Academy program to professionals around the world.

Hope Taitz

Hope Taitz is the CEO of ELY Capital. After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania, Ms. Taitz began her career in mergers and acquisitions at Drexel Burnham Lambert. Ms. Taitz continued at The Argosy Group and then at Crystal Asset Management before founding her own money management firm, Catalyst Partners. Now acting as an investor and advisor with expertise in media, technology and the consumer, she helps innovative enterprises grow through financial leadership and connections to established corporations. Ms. Taitz, currently sits on the boards of Athene Holding Ltd., MidCap Finco Holdings Limited, Greenlight Capital Re, Ltd., Summit Hotel Properties, Inc. and ATTN. On the not for profit side, Ms. Taitz focuses on education and is an advocate for STEM. Originally sitting on the board of Girls Who Code, she now is a board member of CS4All, YRFDarca, the Wharton School Undergraduate Board and the Center for Social Innovation.

Aharon Aharon

Aharon Aharon is the CEO of the Israel Innovation Authority, an independent public entity that operates for the benefit of the Israeli innovation ecosystem and Israeli economy as a whole.

Prior to his role at the Authority, Aharon served as the VP of Hardware Technologies and General Manager of Apple Israel. His previous roles were Co-founder, CEO, and chairman of Camero, a startup developing through-the-wall micro-power radars, active Chairman of the Board at Discretix, a startup providing solutions for data security, CEO of Seabridge, a wholly owned subsidiary of Siemens and COO of Zoran.

Prior to that, he held a number of senior management positions at the IBM Research Division. Aharon holds a B.Sc and M.Sc in Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering respectively from the Technion, where he lectured for more than 15 years

Christoph Auer

Christoph Auer-Welsbach

A product driven deep tech investor and entrepreneur with a strong background in finance, strategy and artificial intelligence with over 10 years of experience in identifying, building, and growing successful businesses and partnerships in the US and Europe. Partner at IBM Ventures focusing on strategic engagements with later-stage tech companies in regards to commercial opportunities in the fields of cloud, storage, security, enterprise SaaS with a special interest in AI and other emerging technologies.

Shira Azran

Shira Azran is a partner in the Corporate and Securities Group.
Shira represents corporations in a wide range of international and domestic corporate transactions, primarily mergers and acquisitions, growth equity financings and venture capital investments. In addition, Shira provides ongoing legal advice regarding corporate and commercial matters to both publicly and privately held companies with an emphasis on the tech sector. Shira works closely with entrepreneurs and investors in both early stage and growth phases of tech companies and supports their corporate decision making processes, fund raising, structural changes and strategic decisions.

Yuval Baharav

Yuval is an experienced entrepreneur, M&A executive and investor, and former CEO of startups including ooVoo, Xacct and Amdocs Cloud Services. As Head of Corporate Development and Strategy for Amdocs (NASDAQ: DOX), he led ten global acquisitions totaling more than two billion dollars of investments. Prior to co-founding State of Mind Ventures, Yuval was a Partner with Sequoia Capital in Israel, and an independent angel investor.

Ronen Barel

Ronen Barel has been acting as the Chairman of EY Israel since 2007 and is a member of the American Executive Board of Ernst & Young. Since becoming a Partner in the firm in 1991, Ronen has been focusing on large public corporations in Israel and abroad. Between 2000 and 2007, Ronen served as the Managing Partner in the firm and prior to that, as partner for nine years.
Ronen holds a BA in Economics and Accounting from the Hebrew University.

Alona Bar On

Alona Bar On is a 50% shareholder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Globes LTD, a financial daily newspaper. Since December 2017 – Bar On is the CEO. Gerhard Plaschka has served as the executive chairman of Kapsch TrafficCom’s North America Holding Corporation since 2008 and has run Kapsch TrafficCom AG’s New Ventures business since 2014. Guy Rinat

Additionally, Rodrigo is the head of the Global Key Account Team, which is in charged or strategy development and execution with Key Accounts. Rodrigo currently represents MSD at the Consumer Goods Forum; he is the chair of the International Poultry Council marketing working group; and he is part of the Pre-Harvest Food Safety Task Force at the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) leading the efforts in poultry.

Rodrigo earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the National Autonomous University of Mexico and a Doctor of Philosophy focused in agricultural leadership, education and communications from Texas A&M University in the United States of America.

Previously Rona invested and partnered with the founders of Varonis (Went Public on Nasdaq in February 2014, VRNS), Skycure (acquired by Symantec), Puresec (Acquired by Palo Alto Networks), Traiana (acquired by ICAP), Worklight (acquired by IBM), Actona (acquired by CISCO), ItemField (Aquired by Informatica), Identify (acquired by BMC), Aduva (acquired by SUN), Fring (acquired by GenBend), SalesPredict (acquired by eBay) and Totango.
Previously, she was a General Partner at Pitango and Evergreen, and was head of the enterprise software sector at both funds. Rona herself was a successful entrepreneur in the computer gaming industry.

He is also a General Partner of Innovation Endeavors, an early-stage venture capital firm backed by Eric Schmidt, the Executive Chairman of Google. Until 2009 Yuval served as a GM at Cisco, and prior to that, he co-founded P-Cube, leading the evolution of the DPI market where served as its CEO up to its acquisition by Cisco in 2004. Yuval has a BSc in Math and Computer Science from Tel Aviv University, holds a variety of patents and has contributed to a variety of telecommunications standards.

Yair Snir

Yair Snir is Managing Director and Vice President at Dell Technologies Capital, where he leads venture investments activity in Europe and Israel. Prior to joining Dell Technologies, Yair was Microsoft’s Corporate Director of Business Development & M&A, managing the company’s activity across Europe and Israel. During this period Microsoft has become the most active M&A player in the region. 

Before Microsoft, Yair worked for ECI Telecom as Head of Corporate Strategy and Business Development. David Wah

Since 1996, Mr. Wah has been part of Credit Suisse’s Technology Group and he has advised on many of the Technology industry’s largest IPOs, equity and high yield financings. He is a member of the Investment Banking and Capital Markets Division’s Global Operating Committee.

Prior to joining The First Boston Corporation in 1992, David was an associate with Cravath, Swaine & Moore, where he practiced corporate securities and mergers and acquisition law.

David serves on the Board of Directors Museum of Chinese in America, a not for profit organization dedicated to preserving and presenting the history, heritage and culture of people of Chinese descent in America, the Visiting Committee of the University of Chicago Law School and the North American Advisory Board of the London School of Economics.

Eyal Waldman

Eyal Waldman is a co-founder of Mellanox, and has served as Mellanox’ s president and chief executive officer since March 1999. From March 1993 to February 1999, Mr. Waldman served as vice president of engineering and was a cofounder of Galileo Technology Ltd. which was acquired by Marvell Technology Group Ltd. in January 2001.

Mr. Waldman left Galileo Technologies in 1999 to start Mellanox Technologies, a leading supplier of end-to-end InfiniBand and Ethernet interconnect solutions and services for server and storage systems.
From August 1989 to March 1993, Mr. Waldman held a number of design and architecture related positions at Intel Corporation. Mr. Waldman holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Technicon Israel Institute of Technology.

Eyal has been recently awarded with an Honorary PhD from the Technicon.

Shmuel Wasserman

Mr. Samuel Wasserman has been the Company’s CEO since its inception in October 2006. Prior to this, Mr. Wasserman served as Vice President of Marketing and Director of Product Management at Ceragon Networks (NASDAQ:CRNT). From 1994 to 2001, Mr. Wasserman held various management positions in marketing and product management at ECI Telecom (NASDAQ:ECIL).
Mr. Wasserman served in the Israeli Navy (Rank: Major).

Mr. Wasserman has a Bachelor’s degree in Electro-Optical Engineering from the Jerusalem College of Technology and an MBA from Bar-Ilan University.

Merav is the Managing Director of Qualcomm Ventures in Europe and Israel. Merav serves on the Boards of WekaIO, Stratoscale, Mantis Vision, Medisafe, ScyllaDB, Splacer and TabTale. Merav served on the boards of Magisto (acquired by Vimeo), Tapingo (acquired by GrubHub), Panoramic Power (acquired by Direct Energy) and Corrigon (acquired by EBay).

Merav has more than 20 years of high-tech and venture capital experience. Prior to joining Qualcomm Ventures, she was at Intel Capital and Pitango Venture Capital. During these years, Merav led and was involved in several investments including: Forescout (NASDAQ: FSCT), Convergin (acquired by Oracle), Boxee (acquired by Samsung); LiveU; Kaminario; and many more. She holds a B.Sc. in Information Systems Engineering (cum laude) from the Technion, and an MBA from INSEAD, France.

Jonathan Winer

Jonathan Winer is Head of Investments and Partnerships at Sidewalk Labs and the Co-CEO of Sidewalk Infrastructure Partners.
Sidewalk, an Alphabet company, is reimagining cities to improve quality of life. Currently designing a district in Toronto’s Eastern Waterfront to tackle the challenges of urban growth, in partnership with the tri-government agency Waterfront Toronto, Sidewalk aims to make Toronto the global hub for urban innovation. Jonathan was responsible for Sidewalk Toronto’s business model and financing strategy and is now launching a separate fund dedicated to technology-enabled infrastructure.

Jonathan previously founded Nereus in 2009, a private equity fund that invests in alternative energy infrastructure in Asia. Prior to Nereus, Jonathan worked at the D. E. Shaw group where he built the private equity team across venture capital, growth equity, and structured finance.
Jonathan graduated from Yale with degrees in Philosophy and Computer Science and lives in Brooklyn, New York.

Guy Yamen is co-founder and managing partner of TPY Capital, an Israel based VC which had recently raised its second fund, and is focused on early revenue enterprise startups. Prior to launching TPY, he spent a few years as a consultant with McKinsey & Company, in their New York and Tel Aviv offices. 

Guy’s commitment to societal change – he co-founded Prize4Life, a non-profit organization dedicated to accelerating the discovery of treatments and cures for ALS. 
Another non-profit, MEET, bringing together Israeli and Palestinian youth in learning computer science and entrepreneurship, Guy has recently helped spearhead the formation of MEET’s virtual learning hub. He’s also a Fellow of the fifth class of the Middle East Leadership Initiative and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network. Guy received an MBA from Harvard Business School as well as a BA in economics and an LL.B, both from Tel Aviv University.
